The latest printer to join Ravenwood’s growing network, offering an exclusive service to both the UK and Ireland. The purchase of a Ravenwood Coater will now enable ProPrint to produce faultless Ravenwood linerless labels. This latest partnership now brings Ravenwood’s UK based network to a total of three.
ProPrint is a key ‘non-plastic’ supplier to the fresh food market with a substantial packaging and labelling product offering. The addition of Ravenwood’s linerless technology, offers a cost effective and sustainable option for a fresh approach in driving business operations forward. Customer demand for more environmentally friendly labelling and packaging solutions is ever-increasing, in light of packaging problems linked to climate change.
Graham Bonus, ProPrint’s Sales Director said: “ProPrint is excited to be working with Ravenwood and is looking forward to following Ravenwood’s strict code of ethics for producing faultless linerless labels, as we become official members of the ‘Circle of Linerless’. We have worked hard over recent years to forge a successful business, built on exceptional service and trust by our customers in the fresh food sector. To now be able to supply Ravenwood approved linerless labels, is something we believe will open up new opportunities for delivering high speed, sustainable and cost effective solutions to new and existing customers.
He added: “Andy Clark, who previously worked for MPH Fulfilment based in Hull, has now also joined the team. Andy brings with him strong technical skills and support, enabling us to advise customers in making the right decisions for driving sales in our new linerless division.”
The new Ravenwood Coater (Com500) will be installed at ProPrint’s Wellingborough factory alongside a new state-of-the-art 10 colour press, with a projected print run in the region of 500k linerless labels per day. Designed and manufactured in the UK, the Com500 is the only machine dedicated to running Ravenwood linerless labels. Linerless is a specialist process, resulting in label reels that have no backing paper. Eliminating the release liner carries many benefits; less waste, reduced landfill disposal costs and a much reduced carbon footprint.
As well as linerless, ProPrint’s label offering includes self-adhesive, peel and reveal multi-page, foil, digital and retail promo labels.
Paul Beamish, MD of Ravenwood said: “We’re delighted to have ProPrint on board with our linerless technology. The ProPrint team are very standards driven, constantly striving to be the best in market with their range of non-plastic, environmentally friendly packaging solutions.”
ProPrint rebranded in 2016 and also supply cartons, produced from paper and board, in addition to their label range. The company employs 83 people at its factory in Wellingborough and prides itself on delivering the highest quality solutions for customers based in the UK and Ireland. Since the rebrand, the printer has invested in four new flexo presses, one Hybrid digital press and a 6 colour Komori litho press. Visit the ProPrint website.
